UK retailer Matalan has launched its Christmas range for 2016 with the majority available to view online now.
Matalan have become one of the go-to stores in recent years for affordable Christmas décor and novelty Christmas jumpers. In revealing most of their Christmas range at this early stage, some people may be irked with the ‘Christmas creep’, but to us it signals that it’s time to start ramping up our Christmas prep.
From Christmas décor to Christmas pet toys
Matalan’s range looks pretty exhaustive again for 2016, with just about everything covered. Of the new things which we really like, the multiple Santa Claus figurines at £10 each have a very traditional look to them, and some lovely designs to choose from.
We also love the Christmas light range which appears to have grown somewhat this year. The four Christmas candy canes at £12, suitable for use outside and so perfect for lining your front path or driveway, look great while there are some great value sets of string lights also heading in to stores.
Christmas throws are always popular to snuggle up under while watching a good Christmas movie, and in our opinion it’s usually Primark that come out on top with their low-cost throws that look and feel gorgeous.
However, Matalan seem to have as many as six different design of Christmas throws this year, starting at £5 and heading up to £15. They look excellent online, we can’t wait to get a feel of them when they arrive in store.
As with many of the large budget-retailers, it may be worth shopping early once the stock hits shelves as they often sell out fast. Not everything is available just yet, but keep an eye on their website as well as your local store.
Christmas tableware
The only disappointment for us at this early stage is the lack of variation with Matalan’s Christmas tableware and dining range. They had some lovely ranges last year, however this years’ offering doesn’t appear to have the same excitement in the designs. We will keep an eye out in case they add more in the coming weeks.
