We may not have made it to Christmas 2015 yet, but luckily movie companies are well ahead of us. Universal has confirmed that the romantic Christmas film Let it Snow will be released in the UK and US next December.

The movie brings together a short story collection by author John Green to the big screen in what will be the writer’s third movie (Paper Towns, The Fault in Our Stars).

Let is Snow is a collection of short stories written by Green, along with Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle, and tells of three love stories between teenagers brought together by a snow storm on Christmas Eve.

Scott Stuber (Ted, Identity Thief) of Blue Grass Films will produce the movie along with Dylan Clark (Planet of the Apes, Oblivion) with the screenplay written by Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect).

Universal have previously enjoyed huge success with Christmas films including Love Actually and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

The news follows-on from November’s announcement that Bad Santa 2 will finally shoot next year ready for a 2016 cinematic release.
