Black Friday was first brought to the UK by a handful of primarily US retailers, one of which was Amazon. So, with the ecommerce giants at the forefront of it once again, here Is your guide to Black Friday on Amazon.

Amazon actually begun its Black Friday event a week ago and has been running daily and week-long promotions throughout the past week.  Some of the daily deals have been good, many have been less-so.

For example, coffee lovers are likely to love the offer on the Nespresso Latissima coffee machine that has £279.99 to £119.99. We’ve seen it in UK high street shops this week for the £279.99 price, so this is definitely a decent deal.

It’s still available now, so if that’s your bag, grab it here – http://amzn.to/2jUjyJX. It’s available in both red and black, but be aware the pods are not that cheap. The coffee is pretty good though, and lots of coffee brands here in the UK now do Nespresso-compatible pods that are available in supermarkets.

We also saw a great offer on a Heineken beer pump (other kegs can be purchased) earlier in the week, but that one seems to have gone now. Keep an eye on the flash deals on Friday though, we reckon it may just pop back up again.

Anyway, we promised a guide to the best deals, or where they may be. So here goes.

Gaming

If there is one area that always carries some good Black Friday discounts on Amazon, it’s gaming, specifically games consoles. The PS4 and Xbox One are the consoles of choice right now, and the recent release of updated versions of both has created some bargain deals on the standard machines.

Keep an eye on the gaming deals page available here throughout Black Friday. Console and game bundles have been cropping up for just £199.99, which is outstanding value. While we cannot see any of those live at the moment, we’re sure they will be back on for Black Friday, so check through the day. If all else fails, similar offers have been available at the likes of Argos!

Tech and Gadgets

Perhaps the biggest comparative savings each year on Amazon at least are on their own range of products. The Amazon Echo, Dot, Kindles, Fire TV stick and tablets are always reduced, and this year is no different. Check the latest discounts out here.

Additionally, tech and computing are good categories to shop in, but make sure you do your homework on pricing elsewhere. Wearable tech is big this year, and with a reputed saving of £87.20, this smart watch is worth a look.

Smart Home

If you’re looking for major household appliances, Amazon is probably not the best site to look at. Argos, Currys and the excellent AO.com are probably better.  However, Amazon has carried some decent offers already this week which suggests some more could be in the offing on Black Friday tomorrow.

However, if smart home devices are what you’re after, then Amazon may have some interesting deals. Last year they had a significant saving on Nest Learning Thermostat, a product which is rarely reduced through the year.  This year, Hive’s similar product has featured prominently with some discounted pricing.

Health and Beauty

There appears to be some good deals to be had in the home and beauty section this year, and so far, the best offer is undoubtedly the Oral-B Series 6000 Electric Rechargeable toothbrush, just £54.99 this week on Amazon. It claims it retails at more than £200, and while that may be a little wide of the mark, you rarely see it for less than £12-£150, so it’s a good deal.

There are a tonne of other products available too, from workout proteins and skincare to hair products and bath bombs. Click here for the full range of Black Friday health and beauty.
