Nothing says “Christmas is coming” quite like getting the Radio Times Christmas edition. Even in the digital age of today, how many of us will still reach for that good old printed guide of festive television? *raises hand*

Well thanks to the release of the Christmas schedules, we can begin circling what we plan to watch, or perhaps hitting the reminder/record button on your digital box.

Many people will be finishing for Christmas on the weekend of 19th/20th December, and it looks like Sunday 20th could be a belter in terms of festive television.

As we confirmed yesterday, The Sound of Music Live! will be shown by ITV at 7:30pm on the Sunday evening, a show that is expected to have a huge audience.

There are lots of other festive treats on offer that same night.

The near-legendary Christmas movie, Home Alone, will be shown on Channel 4 at 6pm, while the perhaps the master of all Christmas rom-coms, Love Actually, will follow The Sound of Music Live! at 10:20pm on ITV.

There are plenty of other bits on throughout the day. Here is our pick of the TV for Sunday 20th December. We will keep you up-to-date with all of the highlights during the festive period.
