Nothing says Christmas like a good Christmas film, so we decided to go and find the best 10 Christmas movie trailers and put them here for your inspiration!
Christmas films are a staple part of the Christmas season for many of us. Whether you start watching them in December or earlier, everyone has their own favoruites and their own special order to watch them in. Do you go with the big Hollywood ones first or leave them until the final few days before Christmas?
Does it always have to be Santa Clause the Movie on Christmas Eve before bed, or do you prefer to put something a little more action packed on? Such as Die Hard, perhaps?
However, you like to watch your movies and whatever your approach is, we’ve listed 10 of the best Christmas movie trailers to get you in the mood for the festive film viewing season!
- The Santa Clause (1994)
The first Santa Clause film with Tim Allen is arguably the best of the three (well, there’s no debate about it as far as we’re concerned). Released back in 1994, there was an eight-year gap between the first and second films in the series. Anyway, enjoy this great trailer which is definitely a classic movie trailer.
- Home Alone (1990)
The original Home Alone movie was also a top-class film and is still a firm favourite with kids and adults today. Expect it to pop-up on TV this Christmas, we’d be disappointed if it didn’t! And in the meantime, enjoy this great Christmas movie trailer. - National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (1989)
A brilliant Christmas movie, and one of the absolute favourites of our editor here on Feel Christmassy. Follow the mishaps of Chevy Chase and family during the Christmas season in this slapstick comedy. It also includes one of the best opening credits to any Christmas film, ever! With great music. We love it. - Elf (2003)
What needs to be said about this brilliant film, Elf? It’s sprung back to prominence in the UK in 2022 (did it ever leave) thanks to a certain supermarket re-cutting it into a brilliant TV commercial. We also interviewed the Costume Designer exclusively on this website back in 2015. Here, enjoy the original trailer in all its glory. - Die Hard (1988)
Nothing says Christmas like throwing a terrorist through the window of a skyscraper and watching him plunge to his death. Is it a Christmas movie? Isn’t it? Who cares, it’s brilliant. Here’s the trailer.
(and yes, it is a Christmas movie) - The Grinch (2000)
The movie has a cult following, it seems to be a love it or hate it affair! But The Grinch is certainly popular and the trailer will certainly get you in the mood for some stroppy festiveness! - Santa Clause, The Movie (1985)
An all-time classic. Quite simply, one of the best Christmas movies ever made, starring the late great Dudley Moore and David Huddleston. This was always a staple on terrestrial TV in the UK over Christmas, and I’m sure this year will be no exception. Enjoy. And check out our article with a close friend of the legend David Huddleston here. - Jingle All the Way (1996)
This makes it in because we love and there’s just something so modern-day Christmassy about charging around the high street trying to get hold of this year’s must-have toy. Well, by modern day we mean mid-1990s. And I guess now you’d just hit Amazon. But you know what we mean. - Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)
You can’t have one without the other. Home Alone 2 was (is) brilliant, just like the original. Set in the magical New York City and with a weird and thankfully brief cameo from Donald Trump, this is a classic. Enjoy the trailer! - A Christmas Story (1983)
This is one for our American visitors primarily, welcome. This movie has a cult-like following in the US with lots of merchandise and collectables still sold today, so we thought we’d include it in this list as well.
