If you’re looking for a slightly different way in which to enjoy your Christmas movies this year, you may be in luck if you live in the north-west of England.

Old Trafford stadium in Manchester – the home of Manchester United – is to host a giant drive-in movie theatre to show Christmas films in the week leading up to Christmas.

Starting on Friday 19th December and running until Christmas Eve, the cinema will show three movies a day on the world’s biggest outdoor LED screen which measures 100sq metres. The sound of the movies will be transmitted on a special radio frequency, named Santa FM.

Movies to be shown include some real classics, such as Home Alone, Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, Die Hard and White Christmas. For younger fans, Disney’s animated hit Frozen will also be shown, as well as a special sing-a-long version on Christmas Eve.

Family entertainment is also on offer and festive dress code is encouraged – be it Christmas jumpers, onesies or full-on fancy dress.

Tickets are priced just £27 per car, which we didn’t think was too bad if you’ve got at least two or three people in the car with you.
