Great news for fans of theatre shows and musicals – the incredibly popular Elf The Musical is returning to the UK in 2017, and this time heads to Manchester.

Elf The Musical debuted in the UK during an enormously popular and sold-out run in London’s West End in 2015. While there are performances of Elf on stage across the United States in 2016, there have been no UK dates.  This will change next year though.

In 2017, Elf heads north, and will be at The Lowry in Manchester from 25th November 2017 until 7th January 2018.

Based on the 2003 smash-hit movie of the same name, starring Will Ferrel, Elf tells the story of a young orphan who mistakenly ends up back in the North Pole with Santa one Christmas.  Initially unaware that he is in fact a human, and not an in fact an elf, ‘Buddy’ is granted permission to visit New York after his large size and inability to successfully complete other elf activities eventually lead him to face the truth.

Elf The Musical will be directed and choreographed by Morgan Young, with set design and costumes by Tim Goodchild.

And now for the part you have been waiting for – tickets.  During its run in London, Elf received widespread criticism for the incredibly high ticket prices, which saw the cheapest ticket total a cost of £65 when booked online or by telephone.  Some tickets were as expensive as £250.

Tickets for Elf at The Lowry will start at around just £33, ranging up to £61.60 for premium seating and boxes (before booking fees, delivery, etc).

We cannot wait for this one, and with Nativity The Musical also due out in 2017, we’re in for a festive theatre treat!
